The project comprises a 400-metre high tower having the shape of a flame that resembles the logo of Gazprom; three podium buildings as well as massive underground structures and special external works. The first phase of this massive project will include five other buildings. The tower will feature office space for the client and its subsidiaries, leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as library and sports centre located in St. Petersburg, the old imperial capital of Russia as its second biggest city. The Okhta Social and Business Centre was previously named as Gazprom City; but in March 2007, the project was named after the Okhta River. Funding for the said project was decided to be allocated by Gazprom Neft with 51 % fund, whilst St. Petersburg City will have a share of 49 %.
